Beautiful Vintage Tribal Basket handcrafted in South Africa by a Venda artisan. This basket is crafted using wire, individual seeds and adorned with cowrie shells and beads. The purpose for this container is to store and hide maize as I’m told the maize in this part of South Africa is unique to the Venda people.
At 50″ in height this fabulous basket would be a great accent for any decor. The second photo shows this container with a shorter one as well as the treasured Venda clay water pot.
