Original rock art painting on fabric canvas. This vintage work captures the cave art of the Khoisan, the original Bushmen of Southern Africa. On my third trip to Africa, still in the 20th Century, I hiked with the Khoisan artist who created these fabric paintings. He not only goes to the caves to immerse himself into the cave art, but he collects herbs that he sells to local stores for tea and as herbal remedies. This work, signed by the artist, can be framed, used as a wall-hanging and even made into other works of art.

Many of the paintings made by this artist show female warriors as shown in the caves.

As my goal was not to just make purchases in Africa, but to assist families and artists by purchasing their collectibles and original work, we do have more of this art. As the work is all handpainted by one artist, although the sizes will be similar, each piece is a little different, just as the drawings in caves. The items on these pages are the items for sale just as you see them. If you order more, you will receive the same size in very similar work as you can see by the items shown.

There are more of these paintings available by size, however as each painting is original they may depict a different part of the cave art as you can see by the different paintings shown in my shop. As you can see, they are very similar.
